An Usher or Groomsman is one of the male attendants to the bridegroom at the wedding ceremony.  Traditionally the bridegroom selects from his closest friends to serve as groomsmen and it should be considered an honour to be selected to be an Usher.

The Ushers duties including helping the guests to find their places before the wedding ceremony and at the reception.  In addition the groom may ask the usher to carry out other duties such as helping organise the stag party and or helping to make the wedding  reception pleasant for guests who are alone.
